An Authentic Czech Moravian Cimbalom Band

MAMA is an Illinois Not For Profit established to promote, preserve, and educate traditional Czech Moravian cimbalom music in the USA. Our European trained musicians play acoustic instruments including violins, viola, double bass, clarinet, and of course the cimbalom. We play waltzes, polkas, czardasz, and marches, and are available for all types of family events, gatherings, concerts, and festivals. The Czech Republic is a country in Central Europe. Moravia is a historical region in the southeast of the Czech Republic and one of three historical Czech lands, with Bohemia and Czech Silesia. Its area of 22,623.41 km2 is home to more than 3 million people historically named Moravians, a subgroup of Czechs. The land takes its name from the Morava river, which runs from its north to south, being its principal watercourse. Moravia’s largest city and historical capital is Brno.
